Physiotherapy
- Electrotherapy includes Microcurrent and Russian Stim , offering a wide range of frequencies that positively affect nerve function and muscle tone. Electrotherapy can ease the pain of spasm or inflammation without using pressure. Russian Stim can strengthen a weak muscle.
- Cryotherapy (cold packs) reduce swelling and sedate nerves, decrease pain and inflammation.
- Intersegmental Traction (roller table) opens up each of the vertebrae, creates motion through each of the joints of the spine, massages perispinal muscles, promotes relaxation.
- Vibratory Massage (Thumper) relaxes and loosens tense muscles, making adjustments easier.
- Ultrasound is useful to enhance healing for chronic musculoskeletal conditions, disbursing muscle spasms and breaking up tissue. Resolves trigger points.
- Short-Wave Diathermy is a deep-heating treatment for lung inflammation such as bronchitis and pneumonia as well as adhesive disorders such as subcapular bursitis.
- X-Rays are used only when specific circumstances (such as trauma from a car accident or fall) or potential disease (cancer, tumor, arthritis) is present. A proper exam and history can most often be enough to move forward with treatment. No onsite equipment. Patients are referred to a radiologist for xrays.
- Nutritional Supplementation is available and encouraged for some patients. Dr. Gretchen offers a selection of vitamins, minerals and metabolic support systems.
